Enchanting 14th century home on the rivers edge.
This beautiful home has been providing comfort and shelter for it's dwellers since the 14th century and provides a unique holiday experience. As you can imagine, there are a wealth of period features to be found across all three floors and it will take some time for you to explore from top to bottom. The property owner has an admirable eye for detail and has combined old-world charm with a touch of modern style - furnishings, linen and bathroom facilities are modern, stylish, attractive and comfortable which helps guests settle in immediately and begin to feel at home.
On the ground level you enter into the main dining/kitchen area with modern appliances and an impressive open fire. Through the door straight ahead you will find the large living room with an equally impressive fireplace (with wood burner) and a glimpse of the enchanting private garden from the window. There is also a private double bedroom on this level with en-suite toilet and small balcony.
The lower ground level is dominated by the largest of the bedrooms, with en-suite shower-room, and access out to the private garden via French doors. Immediately outside lies the patio area with dining furniture, if you walk down the narrow stairs you will find yourself in the wonderful private garden which leads down to the river.
The upper floor of this property is at the top of a winding stone staircase which oozes character. There you can find a double bedroom and a further double bed in an adjoining room. There is a large shared bathroom on this level with bath and shower. The view from the windows look out to the front of the property.
A few practical points; This property is pet friendly on arrangement, please confirm any four-legged friends on booking. It is also important to stress that this property is very old so the odd cobweb may be found, there are exposed stone walls which do create more dust than usual, in points the floors are uneven. Finally due to the size of Les Figues a fuel surcharge is required for bookings November - April inclusive, this is requested on booking, you may find this house to be a little chilly during the colder months therefore would recommend that you purchase wood for your stay, this can be bought from most supermarkets and brico stores.
Interior layout Spread over three levels with a bedroom on each. Living room, kitchen and dining area are located on the ground level. Master bedroom and access to private garden and terrace are found on the lower ground floor.
Exterior Impressive, stone-built former nobleman's house in the heart of Segur Le Chateau.
Sleeping arrangements Three double bedrooms (two with en-suite) + one twin bed in adjoining room.

We went to the night market and loved the village shop and La Part des Anges restaurant. Most of all though we loved just strolling round the fairy tale village and sitting by the river in the evening
