Enchanting Perigordian home with panoramic views.
Arriving to Rediat Cor you're welcomed by a mix of excellently preserved traditional features, and tasteful modern touches. Nicely finished sandstone walls and exposed beams typical of the Perigord region give a feeling of comfort, warmth and character complimented by the decor and calm colour palate throughout. Quality appliances and furnishings, unique artwork, books, objets d'art and nooks n' crannies, not to mention a nicely stocked store cupboard with thoughtful essentials to get your holiday underway.
We would describe Rediat Cor as a generously sized two bedroomed property. Interestingly split over 3 levels, each level cleverly blended to the next creating a fluid space. A home where there's plenty of room to socialise as a group, or find your own corner for quiet time ...each of the bedrooms are peaceful and romantic, encouraging you to relax for just that minute or two longer.
On ground level there is a well designed kitchen and seperate adjoining dining room, both of which overlook the village square and fantastic local restaurants. Heading up to the first floor via a wooden curved staircase, there are two living rooms, both spacious, light and airy rooms, one with a log burner, and the another equally cozy with with a sofa-bed and television. Both of these rooms enjoy vast valley views and if you're lucky the occasional hot air balloon passing by.
From this level you can also gain access to a little outdoor terrace. We feel it's the ideal place to enjoy an aperitif and people watch as people walk past to the chateau.
Finally there are two bedrooms, on the third floor. Both completely separate as accessed via their own staircase ( ideal for 2 couples sharing), each have bundles of character, spectacular views and are rather enchanting.
The bathroom is located on the ground floor of this property. Very nicely designed, with luxurious fixtures and fittings, state of the art walk in shower and a very large seperate bath tub!
A few practical notes; Important to note that Rediat Cor has stairs, and they are winding, also that the bathroom is located on the ground floor level. This is a dog friendly property, any four-legged friends should be arranged upon booking. Due to the exposed stone work in this property there is occasionally more dust than usual. Finally this is a large holiday rental, meaning during the months November to April inclusive there is a fuel surcharge required which is requested on booking.
Interior layout Spread over three levels. Kitchen, bathroom and dining room on ground floor, Living room and bedroom/TV room on first floor and a further two bedrooms on the third.
Exterior Traditional Perigordian village home overlooking the village square to the front and to the back within the shadow of the impressive Hautefort Chateau.
Sleeping arrangements Two double bedrooms plus sofa bed within one of the living room areas.

Perched on the old town square of the beautiful village Hautefort, Rediat Cor is a unique and welcoming house to stay in. The interior has been lovingly restored and the three of us immediately felt comfortable being there as did our Whippet Pearl. Hautefort is a great base to explore the Perigord Vert, both locally and further afield. The village offers great restaurants and a fun bar. There are good markets of all types around and a variety of activities such as swimming in nearby lakes, pools and kayaking. Périgueux is also close for a quick dip into city life. Thank you so much Amy.

We spent a wonderful week in Rediat Cor ..the views of the chateau above and the surrounding ambiance is magical. Amy's thoughtfulness of providing comfort and all the necessary on every floor and all rooms. Relaxing on the terrace with lavender and green succulents, the village below and swallows flying above was very uplifting. Hautefort Chateau and village are worthy of all the written and spoken praise. There is much to discover in this fascinating area, and when not out and about Rediat Cor beckons to relax, enjoy and day dream..utter bliss ! An experience to repeat..Carole and Wilf
